A Disney Vacation Makes Everyone Feel Like a Kid Again

One of the most classic and beloved vacation destinations in America is definitely Florida’s Disney World. While there is also a Disney Land located in the state of California, Disney World in Florida is the better known of the two, and for simplicity’s sake we will take a slightly closer look at the draw of this fun-filled, family play land. In American culture - and, indeed, many cultures around the entire globe - Disney conjures up images of its delightful characters such as its famous spokesperson, Mickey Mouse. Add in the unforgettable backdrop of Cinderella’s castle, and you can pretty much sum up what most immediately pops into most people heads when they think of a Disney vacation.

A Disney vacation or even a Disney cruise is so popular for so many people for a lot of good reasons. One of the biggest reasons, though, is its sheer size. Disney World sits on over 20,000 acres; and most people only ever see a small, tiny fraction of that whole. There are rides and attractions within Disney World that stick in the memories of anyone who ever goes there. Who can forget the iconic “It’s A Small World” ride, for example? Or the ever popular Mad Tea Party teacup ride? These are but two of a huge number of memorable and exciting rides and other features that help make Disney World such a huge draw.

Because Disney World is located near Orlando, Florida, it enjoys great weather year-round. People from colder, more northern climates are known to swarm Disney World during the winter months; it is an excellent place to get away from the long, harsh winters.  So leave your favorite Volcom sweatshirt in the hotel, cause you won’t need it at Disney. There are many water attractions at the Disney World resort, too, ensuring that even on the hottest days, visitors can keep cool and take advantage of the pleasantly warm weather. I have discovered, actually, that the month of February might just be the best time to go to Disney World; unlike the summer months, February boasts warm but not blazing hot weather, and it is much drier at that time of year. The summer months sometimes bring sudden rain storms; not enough to dampen the fun of this incredible place, though!

There is always something fun going on at Disney World, too, which is another good point to make. All over the park, at any given time of day or the week, there are Disney characters roaming around to greet and interact with the visitors - especially with the starry eyed children who so love this place. Also, every day of the year there is a festive parade, led by Mickey Mouse himself. And I’ve noticed that, although it does occur every single day, the parade is always incredibly fun and makes you feel like it is the first one that’s ever happened at the park.

All of these wonderful things, and many more, combine to make a Disney vacation truly one of the most memorable that you and your family could ever embark on. I’ve traveled all over the United States and can say with some authority that Disney World is one of the most treasured and entertaining places to spend time at in America.
